Nordstrom is moving away from its traditional black-and-white look and embracing the gray color palette.
The retailer’s latest cashmere sweater was launched Tuesday and it features the company’s new gray paint, as well as a new grey-and/or black-on-white paint finish.
The grey paint is a nod to the retailer’s longstanding support of children and families, according to the company.
The company also said it will continue to offer the traditional gray paint finish as an option.
Nordstrom said it is looking at new colors and textures to better communicate the warmth and softness of the wool.
The cashmere wool is a natural, warm wool with an elegant feel.
The new grey paint finishes also include the company “delving into the worlds of color and texture,” the company said.
The new gray-and, black- on-white finishes are “a reflection of Nordstrom’s vision of being a destination for women’s fashion,” the retailer said in a statement.
“With these two new shades, Nordstrom brings together the timeless, classic style with a touch of contemporary sophistication.”
The new grey is available in five shades, including black, grey, silver, white and gray. Read more:
